In an impoverished community in South Dallas, urban farming is growing not only fresh food but new opportunities for residents.
The community of Bonton suffers daily from the effects of urban poverty, such as a lack of access to fresh, healthy food that’s affordable. In fact, it takes a three-hour, round-trip bus ride just to reach the nearest grocery store.
Daron Babcock was drawn to this downtrodden community, where he now oversees one of the largest urban farms in the United States. And Bonton Farms doesn’t just offer produce to the community but also jobs, nutrition programs, cooking classes, and more.

The AgriCaptureCO2 project is delighted to present the second edition of the European Regenerative Agriculture Community Conference. Set up in November 2021, the European Regenerative Agriculture Community is a space for exchange and learning among farmers, researchers, and other stakeholders interested in regenerative farming.
In this interactive online event, we will discuss the benefits which regenerative farming can bring to farmers, explore how public policies in the EU and the UK are promoting carbon farming, and discover the digital solutions developed by AgriCaptureCO2 partners to support and reward farmers for implementing more sustainable practices.

Description: The traditional practice of cultivating head-trained bush vines is transmitted through generations of vine growers and farmers of Pantelleria. The technique consists of several phases, from preparing the ground, planting the vine, pruning the stem and finally harvesting grapes The knowledge and skills of bearers and practitioners are handed down in families through oral and practical instruction in the local dialect. In addition, rituals and festivals organized between July and September allow the local community to share this social practice.
